Mädchen Amick (born December 12, 1970) is an American actress who rose to prominence in the early 1990s. Her name "Mädchen" means "girl" in German, though she was born in Sparks, Nevada. Her most iconic role came in 1990 when David Lynch cast her as Shelly Johnson in the cult classic series "Twin Peaks." The waitress character became one of the show's most beloved roles, and Amick's performance helped launch her career. She appeared in both the original series (1990-1991) and the 2017 revival. Notable Works: "Twin Peaks" (1990-1991, 2017) as Shelly Johnson "Gilmore Girls" (2002-2003) as Sherry Tinsdale "ER" (2004-2005) as Wendall Meade "Witches of East End" (2013-2014) as Wendy Beauchamp "Riverdale" (2017-present) as Alice Cooper "American Horror Story: 1984" (2019) "Sleepwalkers" (1992) "Dream Lover" (1993) "Trapped in Paradise" (1994) She married David Alexis in 1992, and they have two children: Sylvester Time Alexis (born 1992) Mina Tobias Alexis (born 1993) She has been open about mental health awareness and advocacy, particularly after her daughter was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
