The Abbey with Alan Bennett

Alan Bennett goes behind the scenes at Westminster Abbey, watching the comings and goings in 'the Queen's parish church'.

Alan Bennett goes high up into the north transept of Westminster Abbey, wanders along a hidden passage that goes around the whole building, sits in on a meeting of the Dean and Chapter, and visits the tombs.

Alan Bennett watches the main daily service of Evensong and reflects on his boyhood religion.
